The Under-16s Girls squad emerged 3-1 victors over Merthyr Town in the Welsh Cup on Sunday. The result maintains the squad’s 100% record this season, with 4 wins in 4 games.

A goal from Jessica Denscombe as well as a Megan Christopher double secured an impressive Cup win for the girls.

“We went into the game full of confidence and belief,” Under-16s manager Corey Glover told the official Port Talbot Town website.

“We knew it was going to be a tough tie, Merthyr are a good side with a fantastic Academy structure. The Girls welcomed the challenge and dominated the game from the first minute.

“The Girls are on fire at the minute, they’ve played four games this season and they’ve won all four. We are going into every game fearing no one and stepping up to the challenge and going out on the field and matching and beating the opposition.”
