Port Talbot Town Football Club are pleased to confirm the appointment of Benjamin Keefe as the club’s new Supporter Liaison Officer (SLO)
Keefe, who has been a supporter of the club for many years was successfully appointed following the recent vacancy that became available in September 2018.
The role of SLO is recognised by UEFA and the Football Association of Wales in the context of the Club Licensing regulatory framework which has been revamped for Tier 2 ahead of the 2019/20 season and has always been an important component in the football club’s relationship with its supporters.
UEFA see three key main objectives for an SLO:
– Managing the flow of communications between fans and the club shareholders.
– Assisting and advising fans.
– Liaising with safety officers, police and stewards to minimise potential issues.
Following the confirmation of his appointment, Keefe said;
“I’d like to put on record my thanks to Port Talbot Town Football Club for being given the opportunity to be the club’s supporter liaison officer. I’ve been around the club for a few years now as a fan and as part of a club committee so to be offered this role is a proud moment for myself. I’m looking forward to getting started and to continue to build a bridge between club management and supporters of PTT”.
The appointment of Keefe as SLO is integral in maintaining and improving communication throughout the football club, both internally and externally. Keefe’s commitment to the football club over the years will have provided him with the knowledge and skills required to carry out his role effectively. On behalf of Port Talbot Town Football Club, we wish Benjamin Keefe all the best in his new role and the work put in over seasons to come.
