Cortez Belle’s Blues secured a point against a visiting Caerau Ely side on Saturday afternoon following a hard-fought affair at Victoria Road.
Sam Cowley enjoyed the first chance of the game for the visitors, with a half volley from 20 yards going just over.
A Nathan Mathias free kick on the 10 minute mark tested the reflexes of Rory McCreesh in the Port Talbot goal.
Caerau enjoyed the majority of the possession for the first half hour of the game. The Blues came back into it as the half wore on however, a Belle pass to Patrick Finneral saw him come close to breaking the deadlock just before the break, a last-ditch tackle from an away defender kept the scoreline level at half-time.
Josh Humphreys hit the post for the Blues after the restart. A Finneral shot on target minutes later saw the Caerau keeper tip the ball just over the bar.
A late push from the Blues saw them come close to nicking a win on a number of occasions – with efforts from Belle, Rhys Owen and Chris Keane all coming close.
The point sees Caerau remain 15th in the league, while Port Talbot hang on to their 7th spot in the rankings.
