MATCH PREVIEW: West End vs Port Talbot Town

Port Talbot Town will make the short trip to Pri Deri Park this Saturday (24 August) for a 1stround tie with West End in the Nathaniel Car Sales League Cup. Kick-off is at the slightly earlier time of 2pm in what is sure to be a great occasion.

Our opponents on Saturday have made an impressive start to the season in Welsh Football League Division Two and boast a 100% record with a 5-0 thumping of Panteg followed by a 4-1 victory over Treowen Stars last week.

This will be the first away fixture of the season for Port Talbot Town following three home games to kickstart the season, and the Blues are also unbeaten after two wins and a draw. This will undoubtedly be another tough test for the Steelmen despite the gap of a league division, and Mark Pike will be looking for his team to enter a fortnight’s break with their team in the hat for the next round.

Port Talbot Town will hope to welcome back regulars in the form of Jackson Hall and Ben Rose-Miles after they missed the 1-0 win over Aberbargoed Buds last week, but Blake Morgan looks set to wait for his season to start due to an ongoing injury.

For travelling supporters, Pri Deri Park is located in the Mayhill area of Swansea, postcode SA1 6LD. But if you are unable to attend, don’t worry as you’ll be able to find live updates on the club’s official Twitter and Facebook accounts.
