Port Talbot Town are delighted to announce that winger Keane Watts has committed to the football club through to summer 2020.
Watts has already made a big impact this season contributing with a number of goals and assists in the current Welsh League campaign. Commenting after putting pen to paper, Watts expressed his delight following the signing;
“I’m delighted to have put pen to paper and sign with Port Talbot Town securing my time here for the immediate future. There’s a great group of players already at the club and I’m looking forward to what is ahead at PTT”
“The management team with Pike at the helm has created a great atmosphere and there’s some great talent coming through the club academy and in to the first team setup. There’s still some time to go this season and hopefully we’ll be playing our football in the newly formed Championship next season”
First team manager Mark Pike has his target set on securing the future of other first team players before the season’s conclusion going in to the month of May with what looks to be an exciting few weeks and months ahead;
“Keane is the first of many and with a growing group since the end of last year that’s gone beyond our expectations we’re hoping he is the first of many”
“I am hopeful of securing some new faces just to strengthen in certain areas and push ourselves to where the club needs to be. For sure we are in transition and it hasn’t been easy this season both on and off the pitch but we’ve really pulled together in the recent months and am really looking forward to continuing working with these great group of players.
A changing room of great friends is an easy changing room to work with. These bunch of boys are a credit to our football club and they all want to be here. Hopefully there will be more that’ll continue to commit over the next number of weeks”
Watts’ signature is a big boost ahead of a tough encounter away to Taffs Well this upcoming Saturday. If you’re unable to make the fixture be sure to keep an eye on the official club twitter channel (@PortTalbotTown) for live match updates
