Port Talbot Town’s second win of the season came in the form of a comfortable 3-0 win over Cwmbran Celtic on Saturday afternoon.
The win, coupled with the Blues’ emphatic 8-1 victory at Caerau Ely last week, means the lads have already equalled their away record last season – which saw them pick up just two league wins all season.
A full-strength Blues side made the trip east for this one. Luke Bowen and Cortez Belle started up front, with the likes of Jack Hurley, Anthony Rawlings, Rhys Owen and Aaron Bidderscombe also starting. Rory McCreesh was in goals for the Blues.
The Blues began the fixture well by dominating the majority of possession. The good start paid off after 25 minutes when a Cortez Belle lob from 30-yards flew over the home keeper and into the net.
Cwmbran failed to secure any real chances on goal during the remainder of the first-half. The Blues came close to doubling their lead on a number of occasions, with numerous Luke Bowen efforts flying just wide of the target.
Belle made it 2-0 on the 70 minute mark, with a powerful volley from outside the area proving too much for the home keeper.
The win was sealed in the 90th minute with Belle letting rip another ferocious effort on goal to secure a well-deserved hat-trick.
The Blues are back in Division One action on Saturday afternoon when they welcome Monmouth Town to VIctoria Road Stadium. Kick off 2.30pm!
