Ladies in Cup Derby Victory

Port Tabot Town Ladies secured a 3-0 derby victory over local rivals Briton Ferry Llansawel in the Welsh Premier Women’s League Cup on Sunday (3 November).

Hayley Williams’ Port Talbot Town Ladies dominated the cup tie from the offset with the team on a mission to produce the goods required.

After long periods of possession and several attacks up the pitch, the deadlock was broken in the 28th minute by Bethan McGowan and the Ladies held on until half time with their one-goal lead intact.

Throughout the second half, Port Talbot Town Ladies continued to illustrate their dominance with several battles taking place in midfield. More attacks came and in the 65th minute, Lauren Amor, celebrating her birthday, netted a fine goal to make it 2-0.

On 77 minutes, Courteney Thomas got in on the goal scoring act to complete the excellent display from the Ladies who ran out comfortable 3-0 winners at the Old Road.
